Our Story

Aastha Social Foundation, Ratnagiri,

Aastha Social Foundation, Ratnagiri, established on 23/10/2008, was founded by Mrs. Surekha Pathare. After discovering that her son Aalhad had autism, she decided to leave her job in the Zilla Parishad and dedicate her work entirely to serving persons with disabilities through the foundation.

Initially, an Early Diagnosis and Early Intervention Center was started. What began as a small initiative from home later developed into a therapy center for children with special needs at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Stadium, Maruti Mandir, Ratnagiri on 2nd October 2013. As per the growing needs of society, the organization expanded its projects. In 2023, the organization shifted to its new location opposite Parkar Hospital, Shivaji Nagar, Ratnagiri. Currently, the organization is working towards the holistic rehabilitation of persons with disabilities through the following projects:

4. Aastha Disability Helpline, Ratnagiri
5. Aastha Disability Advocacy Center, Ratnagiri
6. Aastha Disability Awareness and Training Center, Ratnagiri
7. Aastha Disability Employment, Business Guidance and Training Center, Ratnagiri
8. Aastha Assistive Device Library, Ratnagiri
9. Aastha Disability Arts, Sports and Cultural Center, Ratnagiri
10. Aastha Disability Marriage Counseling Center, Ratnagiri
11. Local Level Committee (LLC), Ratnagiri
12. District Disability Rehabilitation Center (DDRC), Ratnagiri
13. Aastha Mobile Hearing Testing Center, Ratnagiri
Through these initiatives, the organization is actively working for the comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
