Aastha Social Foundation Ratnagiri, established on 23 October 2008, was founded by Smt. Surekha Pathre. After learning that her son, Alhad, had autism, she decided to leave her job with the Zilla Parishad and dedicate herself entirely to serving persons with disabilities through the foundation. Initially, an Early Diagnosis and Early Intervention Center was established. What began as a small initiative operating from home later evolved into a therapy center for children with special needs at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Stadium, Maruti Mandir, Ratnagiri, on 2 October 2013. As the needs of society grew, the organization expanded its range of projects.
